About The Team
The Internal Audit Unit sits within the Chief Risk and Audit Office at the City of Gold Coast Council. The team is comprised of 4 principal internal auditors and the Manager Internal Audit. The teams future strategic focus areas include leveraging data analytics, increased stakeholder engagement and integrating our assurance with the City’s various other assurance functions.
About The Role
The Principal Internal Auditor is responsible for assisting the Manager Internal Audit to deliver the annual Internal Audit work program by planning and executing contemporary, risk-based internal audit reviews. Additionally, the Principal Internal Auditor role will provide risk and control advisory services across the broad range of City business operations, processes and systems.

We’re Looking For People Who Have
Internal audit and/or risk management experience and knowledge.Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.Relevant professional qualification/s (such as CA/CPA, CIA, CISA) are highly desirable.Experience writing reports, working with data to produce insights, and communicating with senior stakeholders.Experience working in local government or equivalent subject matter knowledge in relevant areas (such as asset management, financial management, health and safety, information systems/cyber security) is highly desirable.
