Electrical Estimator

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our growing Electrical team. Working within the residential construction sector, you will be responsible for preparing accurate electrical estimates and quotations, reviewing plans and specifications, managing variations, and supporting the delivery team with clear and accurate job information. This is a key office-based role working closely with our supervisors, administration team, builders, suppliers and trades to ensure projects are accurately priced and ready for delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare electrical estimates and quotations from construction plans, specifications and scopes of work

• Complete material and labour take-offs

• Review electrical plans, selections and builder documentation

• Prepare and price client and builder variations

• Review purchase orders and contracts against quoted scopes

• Identify discrepancies, omissions and potential variations

• Obtain and review supplier and subcontractor pricing where required

• Maintain accurate pricing, labour allowances and estimating information

• Assist with job cost reviews and comparison of estimated versus actual costs

• Work closely with Electrical Supervisors and the delivery team to ensure scopes are clearly understood

About you

• Previous experience in electrical estimating

• Experience within residential construction highly regarded

• A strong understanding of electrical installations, materials and labour requirements

• The ability to read and interpret construction and electrical plans

• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy

• Good commercial awareness and understanding of job costing

• Strong Microsoft Office applications and general computer skills

• Excellent organisation and time-management skills

• The ability to manage multiple estimates, variations and deadlines at once

• Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with builders, supervisors, trades and suppliers
