Infrastructure and Platform Engineer

Your opportunityWe have an opportunity for an Infrastructure and Platform Engineer to join our Technology team. This role is responsible for maintaining and evolving a secure, stable, and scalable platform across both on premises environments and public cloud platforms including Azure and Google Cloud. You will work across the full infrastructure lifecycle from deployment and automation through to monitoring, optimisation, and ongoing operations.The focus is on reliability, performance, and practical automation within a hybrid environment.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and support infrastructure across on premises data centres and cloud platformsDevelop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform and related toolingEnsure systems are patched, monitored, secure, and maintained, including on call supportMonitor performance, capacity, cost, and reliability trends and take corrective actionAutomate provisioning, testing, and operational processes to reduce manual effortSupport CI CD pipelines and platform tooling for development teamsManage system lifecycle including upgrades, maintenance, and decommissioning of legacy services
What sets you apartThis is a hands on role operating across both on premises and cloud platforms. It requires someone comfortable balancing operational stability with ongoing improvement, working across infrastructure, automation, and support of development teams. You will contribute to maintaining a resilient environment while identifying opportunities to optimise performance, cost, and scalability. Mandatory Skills and ExperienceStrong experience working across hybrid environments spanning on premises and cloudProficiency in Azure and or Google CloudIntermediate Terraform experience including large or complex codebasesStrong Veeam implementation and management capabilityProficiency in scripting and automationExperience supporting MSSQL environments from an infrastructure perspectiveExperience managing Windows, Linux, and hardware across full lifecycle
DesirableKnowledge of compliance and platform governance requirementsExperience with Entra ID including RBAC, IAM, Service Principals, and Conditional AccessExperience with monitoring tools including Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, Google Cloud Monitoring, AlertManager, and PingdomAbility to communicate technical concepts clearly to a range of audiences
