HME Boilermaker Workshop & Field Service

We’re expanding and looking for an experienced Boilermaker/Fabricator to join our Perth‑based workshop team on Day Shift and Night Shift along with some occasional Field Service work.

This is a heavy fabrication workshop role focused on manufacturing mining equipment, attachments, and structural components in line with AS 1554 and AWS structural welding standards.

You’ll be involved in full‑build fabrication, producing high‑quality welded components designed for high‑stress and fatigue‑critical applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working with a variety of hard steels Hardox, KVX and 10mm to 50mm+ carbon steel for heavy plate fabrication.

• Welding to AS 1554 (Parts 1 & 5) and AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code – Steel. Must have experience in welding with both gas and gasless wire 3XP, 311, XLR8, 81Ni.

• Fabrication and welding of: Mining attachments (booms, sticks, bucket lips and wear packages), structural components and load bearing assemblies.

• Operation of workshop equipment: Forklift, EWP, Plasma and oxy-fuel cutting equipment.

• Maintaining high workshop safety standards

Skills and Experience Required:

• Trade Certificate (Qualified Boilermaker)

• Proven experience in mining-spec heavy fabrication

• Strong understanding of AS 1554 and/or AWS D1.1 welding requirements

• Experience welding thick plate and high-stress components

• Ability to work independently and part of a team

• High attention to quality and detail

• Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices
