Casual Chef

Yamba Golf & Country Club is seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our kitchen team.

We are open to Casual or Full-Time employment, depending on the applicant’s experience, availability and suitability for the role.

The Club is currently undertaking a major clubhouse renovation and redevelopment program, including upgrades to our food and beverage areas. This is an exciting time to join the Club as we continue to improve our facilities, food offering and member experience.

The successful applicant will join a busy club kitchen responsible for delivering consistent, high-quality food and service to our members and guests.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Chef will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, presentation and maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness and kitchen organisation.

The role will provide an opportunity to be involved in the Club’s evolving food operation as we progress through the clubhouse renovations and develop our future food and beverage offering.

Hours and employment arrangements will be discussed with the successful applicant. Casual hours may be up to 30 hours per week, with the opportunity for additional hours where required.

ABOUT YOU

The successful applicant will ideally have:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a Chef in a busy commercial kitchen.

• 5 years’ experience preferred.

• Strong food preparation, cooking and presentation skills.

• Good organisational and time-management skills.

• The ability to work efficiently during busy service periods.

• A strong understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene requirements.

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• A reliable, professional and positive approach to work.

• Good communication skills.

• A genuine interest in producing quality food for members and guests.

• Availability to work a flexible roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.

APPRENTICE CHEF

We are also welcoming applications from Apprentice Chefs who are enthusiastic about building a career in hospitality.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain practical experience in a professional club kitchen while completing a recognised apprenticeship and learning from an experienced kitchen team.

The Club’s ongoing clubhouse renovations and development provide an exciting environment for an apprentice to learn and develop as our food and beverage operation continues to grow.

Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is advantageous but not essential for the right applicant.
