The role
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to take full ownership of the Stafford Warehouse and oversee all receiving, warehousing and distribution operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient receipt, storage, value-added servicing and dispatch of a wide range of products.
The role will be supported by three Team Leaders, each responsible for one of the following warehouse departments:
Tribology: Subcontracting operations and stock management.Stores: Stock management, receiving, distribution, archiving and waste management.Commercial and Logistics: International shipment consolidation.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategically manage the warehouse in accordance with the company’s policies, procedures and vision.Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution, international order processing and Oil Kit subcontracting operations.Develop and maintain an effective warehouse layout to ensure optimal use of available space.Initiate, coordinate and enforce efficient operational policies and procedures.Ensure compliance with all relevant warehousing, handling and shipping legislation.Maintain high standards of health and safety, hygiene and security.Manage stock control and reconcile inventory with the warehouse management system.Liaise with internal departments, other warehouses across Australia, suppliers and transport companies.Plan work rosters, allocate tasks appropriately and assess performance outcomes.Recruit, select, onboard, coach and motivate employees.Prepare regular reports and statistics, including inbound/outbound status reports and dead stock reports.Seek feedback and monitor the quality of services provided.Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.
The essentials:
Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager.Extensive knowledge of warehouse management procedures and best practices.Demonstrated ability to implement process improvement initiatives.Strong understanding of warehouse key performance indicators (KPIs).Hands-on experience with warehouse management software and databases.Strong leadership skills, with the demonstrated ability to effectively manage and develop staff.Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.At least 10 years’ experience managing a complex warehouse operation.A tertiary qualification in logistics, warehouse management or supply chain management will be highly regarded.Current unrestricted driver’s licence.Current forklift licence.
