Legal Assistant and Vibrant Family Law Firm

Location: Melbourne, Victoria
Full-Time | $65,000 – $75,000
8:30 am – 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday

Salary: AU$60,000.00 – AU$75,000.00 per year

We are seeking an experienced, friendly and organised Legal Assistant to join our close-knit team. You will be the welcoming face of our firm, assisting clients and visitors while keeping our office running smoothly behind the scenes.

You are a highly organised and proactive individual with a strong attention to detail and a genuine commitment to supporting others. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, take pride in your work, and are comfortable juggling multiple tasks with competing deadlines. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a professional demeanour, and a natural ability to make others feel welcome and supported.

You take initiative, follow through on responsibilities, and are not afraid to ask questions or seek clarity. You are tech-savvy, quick to learn new systems, and bring a can-do attitude to everything you do. Whether you are managing calendars, handling correspondence, or keeping our office running smoothly, you approach your work with care, efficiency, and pride.

Previous experience in a legal or professional services environment will be highly regarded, but not essential. What matters most is your reliability, adaptability, and willingness to be an integral part of a close-knit team.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and assist clients and visitors with warmth and professionalism
• Answer and direct phone calls, respond to enquiries, and manage incoming emails
• Manage new client enquiries, including collecting detailed information and booking appointments
• Maintain and coordinate calendars, appointments, and meetings
• Prepare, file, and manage documents and correspondence
• Support our lawyers with general administrative tasks
• Ensure the reception area and office remain tidy and organised
• Handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism

What We Are Looking For

Required:

• Experience in a similar receptionist or admin role
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong time management and multitasking abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
• High level of attention to detail and professionalism
• A positive, proactive, and helpful attitude
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

• Previous experience in a law firm or legal environment
• Experience in sales, customer service, or client intake roles
• Familiarity with legal software
