Exeter Mitre 10 is an independent hardware store in Exeter Tasmania, that offers a complete range of home improvement and hardware products for home or weekend projects. The Exeter Mitre 10 team are there to support customers with their projects, gardens, builds, and their everyday purchases, with Mighty Helpful advice.

The store is locally owned and run and has been helping the Exeter community since 1990, and it’s this long-term commitment it dedicates to team members and customers every day.

Vacancy

We are currently looking for a motivated Truck Delivery Driver for a maximum term role for 2 months role offering 22.8 hours per week for the successful candidate based at our store in Exeter.

What you will be doing:

• Delivering timber, building materials and hardware to trade sites, builders and home customers around the greater Launceston Area,

• Loading and restraining your own loads safely,

• Operating the forklift to load and unload,

• Checking orders against paperwork and getting proof of delivery signed off,

• Lending a hand in the yard between runs by picking orders, receiving stock and helping customers load up.

What you will bring:

• A current MR licence and a clean driving record

• Experience driving medium rigid trucks, ideally in building supplies, timber or a similar delivery role

• Solid knowledge of load restraint and safe loading

• A good attitude with customers as you're the face of the business when you're on site

• Physical fitness for regular lifting and manual handling

• Forklift licence (LF) would be a real advantage, though we'll help the right person get them
