About the role

North Lakes Paediatric Dentistry is seeking a Dental Assistant Cert III to join our friendly and professional team on a casual basis moving to a part-time permanent role ( 8 days fortnight, after 6 months probation. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified dental assistant to gain valuable experience in a specialised paediatric dental environment. Based in North Lakes, QLD 4509, you will work flexibly as needed, supporting our specialists and front office in delivering high-quality dental care to children and young patients. This role is crucial to maintaining smooth operations within our practice and ensuring an exceptional patient experience.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting specialists during patient treatments and procedures (GA/sedation and dental office)

• Sterilising and preparing dental instruments and equipment according to infection control protocols

• Recording patient dental records and treatment information accurately in Praktika

• Providing chairside support and reassurance to paediatric patients, helping them feel comfortable and relaxed

• Managing patient flow and scheduling appointments efficiently

• Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic treatment environment

• Receiving and processing patient payments

• Preparing and organising for GA lists

• Following all relevant dental practice regulations and health and safety requirements

• Supporting the dental team to create a welcoming and professional atmosphere for children and families

What we're looking for

• Current Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent qualification

• Current CPR and First Aid certification

• Current Work Place Immunizations in place

• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact positively with children, parents and dental professionals

• Excellent organisational and time management abilities

• A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their dental health

• Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to infection control standards

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

• Flexibility and reliability in meeting casual work scheduling needs

• Previous experience in a paediatric dental practice is highly desirable but not essential
