About the role

The Clinical Nurse is a registered nurse who is accountable for practice at an advanced level, working collaboratively within the Emergency Department and with other members of the health care team including consumers/carers, other health professionals, general practitioners and other agencies (including non-Government agencies).

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

• Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and experience in Emergency Nursing, delivering expert nursing care in complex situations while providing support and direction to other team members.
• Demonstrated ability to role model excellent standards of comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care and documentation to facilitate quality patient outcomes, in accordance with National Safety and Quality Health Service and professional standards which impact on nursing practice.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and maintain a positive workplace culture through role-modelling well developed consultation, liaison, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, engaging professionally with members of the healthcare team, patients, relatives and visitors.
• Demonstrated leadership to effectively plan, manage and evaluate health services and patient flows to achieve organisational goals including an understanding of the national emergency access target (NEAT).

Mandatory Requirements:

• Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
