As our Oceania business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our senior leadership team and play a key role in driving business performance and profitable growth.
Your New RoleAs Financial Controller, you will lead the Finance function across Manitou Australia’s operations and Centres.
Reporting to the APAC Financial Controller and Managing Director Australia, you will partner with senior leaders across the business, APAC and Global Headquarters to provide strategic financial leadership while overseeing day-to-day finance operations.
This is a broad, commercially focused role covering financial management, business partnering, performance analysis, governance and compliance. You will lead and develop the Finance team and provide insights that support strategic decision-making and continued growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead the Finance function across Sydney and Perth.
Oversee financial accounting, reporting, forecasting, budgeting, taxation, treasury and insurance.
Partner with the Managing Director and General Managers on strategic and business planning.
Monitor business performance, margins, profitability and working capital (receivables, inventory, cash) and identify opportunities for improvement.
Cross-Site ERP & RPA Implementation: Partner with cross-functional stakeholders across the Sydney and Perth locations to drive the deployment of new ERP and RPA systems, streamlining regional financial reporting, inventory tracking, and operational workflows.
Lead Group reporting, including sales, order intake, inventory and financial results.
Oversee statutory reporting, tax, audits and relationships with external advisors.
Maintain effective financial controls, policies and compliance frameworks.
Review capital expenditure and return-on-investment proposals.
Provide commercial analysis and insights to senior and regional management.
Lead, develop and support the local Finance team.
Collaborate with Finance teams across Australia, APAC and Manitou Group Headquarters.
Support company secretarial, legal, compliance and other strategic business activities as required.
10+ years’ experience in progressively senior finance roles, ideally with broad Finance and Operations responsibility.
Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline; CPA preferred.
Experience in an international or multinational organisation.
Strong financial accounting, reporting, forecasting and commercial analysis capabilities.
Proven experience leading and developing Finance teams.
Strong knowledge of governance, internal controls, taxation and compliance.
Commercially minded, with the ability to translate financial data into practical business insights.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving and decision-making capability.
Highly organised, proactive and comfortable managing competing priorities.
Willingness to travel within Australia and overseas as required.
