The MPS (Machine & Production Support) team plays a critical role in keeping Sigma Healthcare's specialised packing and checking equipment running reliably across our operations and customer sites.

While you'll be the only technician based at our Oakleigh site, you'll never be on your own. You'll be part of a highly experienced national team including technicians in Brisbane and Sydney who stay closely connected through regular collaboration, team chats and knowledge sharing.

About the Opportunity

Based from our Oakleigh facility, the role of the Service Technician will operate Monday - Friday from 10:00am to 6:00pm; responsible for maintaining, repairing, servicing and optimising specialised packing and production equipment at our Oakleigh facility and selected customer sites across Victoria.

This is a role for someone who enjoys getting hands-on. One moment you might be dismantling a machine, thoroughly cleaning it and rebuilding it to ensure it continues to operate effectively. The next, you'll be troubleshooting a mechanical fault, adjusting machine settings, replacing parts, configuring equipment or helping resolve a local IT issue.

Because Oakleigh is a smaller facility, you'll become a valued go-to person for a range of technical challenges. Whether it's repairing equipment, replacing a PC, managing spare parts inventory or identifying a solution to a problem you've never seen before, you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact every day.

What Will You Be Doing?

• Performing preventative maintenance, servicing and repairs on specialised packing and checking equipment.
• Diagnosing faults and resolving mechanical, electromechanical and equipment-related issues.
• Dismantling, cleaning, maintaining and rebuilding machines to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
• Configuring machine settings and supporting equipment optimisation efforts.
• Managing onsite spare parts inventory and coordinating stock requirements.
• Maintaining maintenance records, cleaning logs and compliance documentation within regulated systems.
• Using systems including Jira and maintenance platforms to report issues, complete work orders and track activities.
• Supporting the operation of various sachet packing and production machines.
• Providing basic IT troubleshooting and technical support for the Oakleigh site when required.
• Travelling occasionally to customer and satellite sites across Victoria, including Rosanna, Spotswood and Geelong, for servicing and repair work.
• Building strong relationships with site leaders, operators and customers through responsive and professional support.
• Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement that reduce downtime and improve reliability.

Who Are We Looking For?

This role will suit someone who enjoys solving problems and takes ownership of their work.

You might already have experience servicing photocopiers, printers, production equipment, packaging machinery, manufacturing equipment or similar electromechanical systems. Equally, you may have developed your skills in another technical environment and simply enjoy figuring things out.
