ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYAzooa is seeking experienced Software and Platform Engineers to support classified software delivery for the Defence Science and Technology Group’s Digital and AI Systems Specialised Technical Capability.The engagement will support the prototyping, integration, deployment and transition of DSTG-developed applications onto classified Defence and Intelligence networks.The work supports Defence Integrated Investment Program projects, including initiatives managed by the Defence Intelligence Group and the Australian Signals Directorate.This scope of work will be delivered by a team of six Software and Platform Development resources across SFIA Levels 3, 4 and 5.If you have partial experience across the required technical areas, hold an active TSPV clearance and can demonstrate strong capability in software development, platform engineering, DevSecOps, cloud platforms, Kubernetes, CNCF technologies or classified Defence environments, we still encourage you to apply.Azooa is interested in speaking with candidates who can bring strong transferable skills and relevant Defence, Intelligence, classified or restricted-environment experience, even where they may not cover every aspect of the technical scope.

RESPONSIBILITIES• Develop, integrate and deploy prototype applications onto classified networks• Deliver software-development capability aligned with SFIA Levels 3, 4 or 5• Engage stakeholders to understand project and user requirements• Support business analysis and technical-requirements development• Contribute to solution architecture, application design and design reviews• Build, integrate and test secure software solutions• Support user acceptance testing, verification and validation• Transition and deploy applications into production• Install, configure and sustain infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code• Work with Kubernetes, CNCF technologies and modern platform practices• Support DevSecOps and secure CI/CD delivery• Maintain source code within designated classified repositories• Maintain software artefacts within classified artefact repositories• Prepare and maintain technical documentation in SCM and Confluence• Deliver application demonstrations and technical briefings• Support application, system and infrastructure availability• Contribute to incident and problem investigation and resolution• Ensure solutions remain compatible with Commonwealth ICT environments• Minimise technical, security and operational risks
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS• Australian citizenship• Active Top Secret Positive Vetting clearance• Strong software-development experience• Strong platform-engineering experience• Capability aligned with SFIA Levels 3, 4 or 5• Experience with CNCF technologies• Experience working in classified Defence environments• Ability to work onsite in Edinburgh or Fairbairn

ENGAGEMENT TERMSInitial term: Indicatively nine monthsCurrent work-order end date: 30 June 2027Extension options: Up to two additional 12-month terms at the Commonwealth’s discretionContracting model: ICT Personnel Resources and Application ServicesRATE GUIDANCEContractor: Up to $157 per hour plus GSTPAYG: Up to $155 per hour inclusive of superannuationThe final rate will depend on experience, SFIA level and engagement model.
