Teacher - VCE Vocational Major (VM) / Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC)

About the role

As a classroom teacher, you will play an important role in inspiring and supporting students to engage in their learning and achieve their personal goals. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver high-quality teaching programs that are responsive to diverse learning needs and aligned with trauma-informed and strengths-based practice.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, plan and deliver engaging learning programs that cater for diverse learners.

• Build positive and respectful relationships with students that support engagement and wellbeing.

• Monitor student progress and use data to inform teaching and learning.

• Differentiate curriculum to meet individual learning needs and goals.

• Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive school culture.

• Work collaboratively with families, wellbeing staff and multidisciplinary teams to support student success.

• Participate in professional learning and continuous improvement initiatives.

About you

• Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.

• Experience teaching secondary students.

• Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.

• The ability to differentiate curriculum and support diverse learning needs.

• Excellent communication, collaboration and organisational skills.

• A commitment to child safety, inclusion and student wellbeing.

• Experience working with students who have experienced educational disadvantage, disability, trauma, cultural diversity or other barriers to learning will be highly regarded.

• Experience teaching VCE VM and/or VPC is highly desirable, as are strong literacy and numeracy teaching skills.
