Kidz Ink Long Day Care Centre is seeking an Experienced Diploma Room Leader to join our team in Campbelltown, NSW. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in delivering exceptional early childhood education and care. As Room Leader, you will be responsible for leading and managing a dedicated early learning environment, ensuring children receive high-quality care, education and developmental support. What you'll be doing
Lead and manage day-to-day operations within your room, creating a safe, welcoming and developmentally appropriate learning environment
Plan and implement play-based learning experiences that promote children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in line with the Early Years Learning Framework
Observe and assess individual children's development and use this information to inform tailored learning plans and programming
Supervise and mentor team members within your room, providing guidance and support to educators and support workers
Build and maintain positive, respectful relationships with families through regular communication, parent-teacher meetings and progress reports
Maintain comprehensive documentation, including children's portfolios, incident reports and compliance records
Ensure all health, safety and hygiene standards are consistently met, including managing routines for rest time, meals and personal care
Collaborate with colleagues across the centre to ensure consistency in educational philosophies and care practices
Contribute to professional development initiatives and support continuous improvement within the centre
Liaise with external professionals such as speech pathologists, occupational therapists and health services when additional support is required
What we're looking for
A current Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
Minimum of 3–5 years' experience working in early childhood education and care, with experience in a room leader or supervisory capacity
Strong knowledge and demonstrated application of the Early Years Learning Framework and current best practice in early childhood education
Excellent planning, programming and documentation skills with the ability to create individualised learning experiences for children and to provide a school readiness program
Proven leadership and mentoring abilities, with experience managing and supporting a team of educators
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with families, colleagues and external professionals
Sound understanding of child safeguarding, compliance requirements and duty of care obligations
Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain if not already held)
Working With Children Check clearance (or willingness to apply)
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting children's development and wellbeing
Experience with childcare management systems and digital documentation is advantageous
