The Role & The Challenge

We are seeking an exceptional, highly proactive AI-Empowered Senior .NET Engineer who wants to challenge themselves by working on truly innovative software and solving real, complex problems.

If you are content with picking up standard tickets and writing boilerplate CRUD applications, this is not the role for you. We want elite problem solvers. You will step into a high-trust, fully empowered environment where you are expected to take complete technical ownership of ultra-fast, highly performant backend architectures.

Key Responsibilities

• Solving Interesting Problems: Autonomously identify architectural bottlenecks or process inefficiencies, thinking outside the box to engineer creative, unconventional solutions to highly complex technical challenges.
• API Architecture & Engineering: Design, build, and scale production-grade RESTful JSON APIs using the latest .NET Core frameworks and C#, ensuring optimal response times and high throughput.
• Backend System Design: Contribute heavily to backend architecture and solution design, supporting enterprise-scale requirements, microservices, and complex data orchestration.
• Deep .NET Optimisation: Push the boundaries of the framework, optimising at the CLR level to ensure maximum performance and minimal latency across our core platforms.
• AI-Driven Engineering: Extensively utilise AI tools (with 0 restrictions) to accelerate code generation, automate testing, and solve complex architectural roadblocks.
• Secure Development: Architect solutions that adhere to the strictest security standards, working safely within a highly regulated enterprise environment to protect sensitive data and prevent vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP top 10).
• DevOps & Testing: Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or TeamCity. Implement robust test automation practices (xUnit, NUnit), including containerised workflows using Docker.
• Technical Mentorship: Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and performance optimisation efforts. Support and mentor mid-level engineers, contributing to a culture of uncompromised quality and ownership.

• The Depths of .NET Mastery: You don’t just use the framework; you understand the absolute depths of C# and .NET. You have deep knowledge of what happens under the hood with the CLR, Garbage Collection, memory management, and the async/await state machine.
• Senior-Level Expertise: Proven experience operating at a Senior Engineer level within modern, high-performing engineering teams that build innovative software.
• RESTful API Excellence: Mandatory, extensive commercial experience designing, documenting (Swagger/OpenAPI), and building high-performance RESTful JSON APIs from scratch.
• Security & Performance: A strong track record of building secure, performant applications (optimising complex database queries with EF Core/Dapper, advanced caching strategies).
• AI Fluency: A highly practical, delivery-focused mindset on how to use AI and agentic tools to radically improve your own engineering output.
• Bonus Skills: Commercial experience deploying and operating .NET workloads on AWS (ECS, RDS, API Gateway) is a nice-to-have, alongside any experience integrating or building data layers using GraphQL (e.g., HotChocolate).
