About the role
Find your further with Ventia by leading safety on a critical infrastructure project. As the SHEQ Advisor you will lead safety and oversee the maintenance and upgrade of sewage treatment plant assets at Amberley RAAF Base. This is a hands-on role where you can influence stakeholders, manage contractor engagement and drive best practice safety outcomes in a live construction environment.

About The Role
This role is ideal for a confident HSE Advisor who enjoys being visible in the field, coaching teams, leading investigations and ensuring all phases of project delivery are planned and executed safely.
Key responsibilities include –
Reviewing and assessing project safety plans, SWMS and construction methodologies prior to work commencingLeading audits, inspections and assurance activities to ensure compliance with legislative and contractual requirementsManaging site safety risks particularly those associated with excavation, electrical installations, contamination, confined spaces and elevated work platforms Facilitating toolbox talks, safety meetings and workforce engagement activitiesLeading incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actionsMonitoring SHEQ performance data and providing reporting and recommendations to project leadershipBuilding strong relationships with subcontractors and supporting contractor compliance across the project lifecycleAssist with training, competency and compliance (including VOCs) for workforce and identifying development initiatives
About You
Ideally you will come from a construction, civil, water industry or field-based background with sound experience managing subcontractors.
Diploma in Work Health & Safety or equivalent qualificationCurrent drivers licence and construction white cardStrong knowledge of WHS legislation and management systemsExperience leading incident investigations and assurance activitiesAbility to analyse data and identify actionable risk management strategiesExcellent communication, stakeholder engagement and presentation skillsStrong organisational, planning and reporting capabilityDemonstrated ability to influence operational teams and drive positive safety outcomesPlant construction and ICAM training highly desirable
