Position description
A full-time Evening Supervisor position is currently available within the Specimen Reception section of our Histology department of Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology, Macquarie Park.
This role is full-time, 38 hours per week, working Monday to Friday, 5.00 pm – 1 am. (Secure onsite parking is available)
Reporting to the Evening Coordinator, you will work closely with the Cut-Up Supervisor and Team Leader to support the smooth operation of the department.
As the Evening Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the evening shift, ensuring the timely processing and delivery of specimens to the Surgical Scientist team. Key responsibilities include:
Supervising and supporting evening shift staff
Managing workflow and work allocation
Coordinating staff rosters
Conducting competency assessments and training
Ensuring specimens are processed efficiently and accurately
Participating in monthly leadership meetings
Ideal candidate

You should have demonstrable experience in leadership, workflow and time management. You must be reliable, a strong team player and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent is also required. Previous laboratory experience is preferred.
