Senior Associate | Executive Search

We are actively seeking a commercially minded, professional and engaging Senior Associate to join the high-performing Sydney based team of our APAC Executive Search practice.

About the Role

As a Senior Associate, you will play a central role in the execution of executive search engagements, partnering closely with Managing Directors and the broader team. You will contribute across the full search lifecycle - from research and market mapping through to candidate engagement and assessment - while acting as a strategic advisor on leadership talent. The scope of work is broad and varies in complexity according to the parameters of each search and Associates continuously drive, develop, and pivot in strategy to ensure better and more efficient means of suitable candidate identification and engagement.

This is a hands-on, high-visibility role with strong exposure to senior executives and board-level hiring decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Support client requirement gathering, including research and participation in kick-off meetings
• Collaborate on search strategy development and position profile (specification) creation
•  Conduct detailed market mapping and build targeted candidate pipelines
• Engage and headhunt senior executives through tailored outreach
• Perform candidate screening and in-depth interviews
• Manage search execution, including reporting, tracking, and documentation
• Prepare high-quality candidate profiles and client-ready materials
• Gather market intelligence and provide insights on industry trends and talent movements

About You 

The preferred candidate is a degree-qualified, successful contingent or retained permanent recruitment professional with experience in placing talent at the management and/or senior leadership level. Given the requirement to identify and engage hard-to-reach, high-impact executives, the ideal candidate demonstrates a methodical, diligent, and disciplined approach to their work. 

We encourage applications from individuals who demonstrate:

•  Minimum of 2-years’ experience with Robert Half
•  Experience in permanent placement corporate recruitment, executive search, or professional services
•  Demonstrated experience working with C-Level executives
• Excellent research, analytical, technology and communication skills
• Advanced verbal communication skills with the ability to proactively headhunt, engage and interview senior level candidates
•  The ability to effectively context-shift between detailed work and strategic thinking
• Highly driven and self-motivated with the ability to work independently where needed
• A team player who enjoys a collaborative work environment with the agility to work with several colleagues on simultaneous projects and effectively prioritize client deliverables
• High levels of professionalism, discretion, and emotional intelligence
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• A proactive, curious mindset with a passion for learning and continuous improvement
• Strong business writing experience and high attention to detail
