About the role
Parkside Group is looking for a reliable and safety focused Truck Driver to join our Townsville Truss Plant team in Garbutt.
This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced driver who takes pride in operating vehicles safely, delivering quality service to our customers, and being part of a supportive team.
You’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of trusses, materials and other goods to customers and sites across the local and regional area. You’ll also assist with loading and unloading using the appropriate equipment, including cranes.
What You'll Be DoingSafely operate company heavy vehicles in accordance with Queensland road laws and transport regulations.
Complete pre-start, en-route and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Safely load, secure, transport and unload trusses and other materials.
Operate vehicle-mounted lifting equipment/crane for loading and unloading where required.
Ensure loads are correctly positioned, secured and within legal weight limits.
Complete delivery documentation, manifests, consignment notes and proof of delivery accurately.
Follow fatigue management requirements, Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations and Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL).
Maintain accurate driving, fuel, mileage and vehicle service records.
Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, customers and management.
Represent Parkside Group professionally and provide friendly, reliable customer service.
Keep the truck clean, safe and well maintained and report any faults or damage promptly.
Assist with yard and warehouse duties when required.
Follow all Parkside Group safety policies, procedures and workplace requirements.
Contribute to a positive, safety-focused and team-oriented workplace.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Minimum 2 years' experience as a professional truck driver.
A current HR, HC or appropriate heavy vehicle licence.
A current crane ticket/licence appropriate for the equipment being operated.
Forklift licence (LF/LO) is desirable.
Fatigue Management accreditation, where applicable.
Experience with local and/or regional deliveries.
Strong understanding of heavy vehicle safety, road rules and transport compliance.
Good knowledge of load restraint and safe load handling practices.
Ability to read delivery paperwork, manifests and use GPS/navigation systems.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
The physical ability to safely handle and secure materials as required.
A reliable, positive and professional attitude.

This is a full-time position based at our Townsville Truss Plant in Garbutt.
The role may involve:
Early starts and varying shift times.
Local and regional travel.
Additional hours, weekends or other work outside standard hours depending on operational requirements.
Regular manual handling, loading and unloading of materials.
Working outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
