Fitter Learnership

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

Grade 12 (Matric). An N4/N5 qualification in Boilermaking or Mechanical Engineering will be advantageous. Willingness to learn and undergo practical training. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of the team. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take initiative. Physically fit and willing to work overtime when required. A valid driver’s licence will be advantageous.

Duties And Responsibilities (not Limited To)

Assist the qualified Fitter with the maintenance, repair and installation of plant equipment. Assist with the replacement of crusher wear parts. Assist with the maintenance and repair of jaw crushers, cone crushers and screening equipment. Assist with the replacement of V-belts, bearing, pulleys, gearboxes and other mechanical components under supervision. Assist with changing gearbox and hydraulic oils, lubricating plant equipment, and collecting oil samples for condition monitoring. Assist in replacing screen panels, sieves, skirting and conveyor components. Assist with inspecting mechanical equipment and identifying defects requiring maintenance. Assist with planned preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs. Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area in accordance with the Company's safety standards. Follow Lockout/Tagout procedures and comply with all healthy and safety regulations. Perform any other maintenance- related duties assigned by the Artisan or Maintenance Supervisor. Maintain good housekeeping in accordance with the company standards.
