Architectus are seeking a highly capable Senior Architect / Senior Designer to join our Sydney Commercial team and contribute to the delivery of complex commercial, mixed-use and high-density projects across a range of scales.
This role is ideal for someone with strong technical capability, advanced digital modelling skills and a rigorous approach to project delivery. You’ll work within a collaborative commercial sector team, contributing to the resolution of complex planning, façade and coordination challenges while helping shape high-performing architectural outcomes.
You’ll play a key role in bridging design and technical delivery, supporting projects from feasibility and planning analysis through to coordinated documentation and consultant integration.
What You'll Do
Develop and coordinate high-quality technical documentation packages aligned with programme and delivery requirementsProduce and manage advanced Rhino and Revit models, including complex geometry and façade systemsWork within a coordinated BIM environment and manage model exchanges with consultant teamsUndertake planning and compliance analysis against DCP, LEP, SEPP and site-specific planning controlsTest schemes against development constraints including height, FSR, setbacks, solar access, overshadowing and privacy requirementsSupport environmental analysis and performance testing including solar studies, daylight access and ADG-related compliance using Ladybug and HoneybeeCoordinate closely with specialist consultants and integrate technical input into resolved architectural outcomesContribute to design reviews, visualisation workflows and client presentations using Enscape and other digital toolsTake ownership of agreed project packages while collaborating closely with senior leaders and project teams
What You'll Bring
Advanced Rhino and Revit proficiency is essential, particularly in façade modelling and complex geometryDemonstrated experience delivering commercial, mixed-use or large-scale residential projectsStrong technical and documentation capability across complex project typologiesExperience working within coordinated BIM and consultant environmentsUnderstanding of planning frameworks including DCP, LEP, SEPP and ADG requirementsAbility to quickly assess development potential and communicate planning implications clearly to project teamsExperience undertaking environmental analysis and interpreting data to support design and compliance outcomesCompetency in parametric modelling is highly regardedStrong coordination skills and the ability to manage technical interfaces across multiple disciplinesA detail-focused, proactive and collaborative working style
