We are seeking an experienced CSSD Technician to join our team at Day Hospital Hobart and play a vital role in supporting our perioperative services.

As a CSSD Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective reprocessing of reusable medical devices and the provision of sterile supplies to support operating theatre services.

Working closely with the perioperative team, you will contribute to maintaining the highest standards of sterilisation, infection prevention and patient safety.

• Decontaminate, clean and prepare surgical instruments and equipment

• Operate sterilising and disinfecting equipment in accordance with relevant standards and guidelines

• Maintain accurate sterilisation records and documentation

• Monitor CSSD equipment and stock levels

• Support inventory management of sterile and non-sterile supplies

• Identify damaged instruments and equipment requiring repair

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and accreditation activities

• Work collaboratively with theatre and recovery teams to ensure efficient service delivery

• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, workplace health and safety, and quality requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous CSSD experience

• Sound knowledge of sterilisation principles

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team

• Commitment to delivering high standards of quality and patient safety

• Effective written and verbal communication skills

• Strong attention to detail

• Commitment to ongoing professional development

• Certificate III in Sterilisation Services or equivalent

• Demonstrated ability to clean and prepare instrumentation in accordance with infection control guidelines

• Enthusiastic, motivated and self-directed

• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills

• Effective interpersonal skills

• Excellent attention to detail

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
