Maintenance Fitter / Welder

About the role

Due to an increase in workload AK Blyth Enterprises' is seeking skilled Fitters or Fabricators to join our team in Launceston, Tasmania. These are full-time roles responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of machinery and equipment to ensure efficient and reliable operations for our varied client base.

What you'll be doing

1. Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on production equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems

2. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues, then implement appropriate repair solutions

3. Conduct regular inspections and maintenance checks to proactively identify and address potential problems

4. Fabrication of Mild Steel and Stainless

5. Liaise with clients to understand equipment needs and schedule maintenance activities

6. Document maintenance activities and keep detailed records

7. Installation of new equipment and machinery

8. Assist with projects and other duties as required

9. Working with other contractors to achieve desired project outcomes

10. Working in Waste Water Treatment plants is required

11. On site and workshop based

What we're looking for

1. Relevant Trade qualification

2. Experience in a similar maintenance or fabrication role

3. Pump & Water Treatment equipment knowledge highly desirable

4. Strong mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting skills

5. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics

6. Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment

7. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

8. Confined Space, Working at Heights, EWP, Fork Lift, Construction White Card & First Aid Desirable

9. Driver’s License essential

10. Strong communication and teamwork abilities

11. Commitment to workplace health and safety

12. Sound decision-making, prioritisation of works, and time management skills.
