Job Description

We're looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Cook to join our team at Guzman y Gomez Mexican Kitchen in Mount Barker, Australia. As a Cook, you'll be at the heart of our restaurant operations, preparing fresh and delicious Mexican cuisine that delights our guests. You'll work collaboratively with our kitchen team to maintain high food quality standards while bringing vibrant Mexican flavors to life using premium local ingredients. • Prepare and cook fresh Mexican dishes according to established recipes and quality standards
• Organize and manage kitchen workstations efficiently to support smooth daily operations
• Maintain exceptional food safety and hygiene standards at all times
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely food preparation and service delivery
• Problem-solve creatively to overcome kitchen challenges while maintaining food quality
• Receive and implement feedback from supervisors and peers with a positive, learning-oriented mindset
• Assist in inventory management and communicate ingredient needs to support team
• Contribute innovative ideas to enhance menu offerings and cooking techniques
• Ensure customer satisfaction by consistently delivering high-quality, fresh food

Qualifications

• Kitchen experience is helpful but not essential—we value attitude and willingness to learn above all
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
• Excellent attention to detail in food preparation and presentation
• Reliable, dependable work ethic with a "can do" attitude
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods
