About The Role
As a Veterinary Nursing Teacher, you'll bring learning to life through hands-on training, industry insights and practical experience.
You'll deliver and assess the ACM40418 Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, preparing students for rewarding careers across veterinary practice and animal care settings.
You'll Be Responsible For
Delivering engaging and interactive classroom and practical trainingTeaching key veterinary nursing disciplines, including surgical nursing, dentistry, pathology, reception operations and client careDeveloping learning resources and assessment materialsSupporting students with diverse learning needs and backgroundsMaintaining accurate training and assessment recordsParticipating in validation and continuous improvement activitiesStaying connected to current industry practices and emerging trendsRepresenting Bendigo Kangan Institute at industry and community events, including expos and outreach activitiesEnsuring compliance with VET quality standards, regulatory requirements and Institute policies
About You
You're an experienced Veterinary Nurse who is passionate about developing others and sharing your industry expertise.
Essential
You'll bring:
Minimum 5 years' experience in the veterinary nursing industryCertificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent)Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or a higher qualificationStrong practical animal handling skills and knowledge of animal welfare practicesExcellent communication and relationship-building skillsA passion for education, mentoring and supporting student success
Desirable
Previous teaching, training or mentoring experienceMental Health First Aid qualification
