About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our Design and Engineering business unit, working on complex projects within the food industry.
You will lead and coordinate the design process, ensuring documentation is comprehensive, buildable and delivered to the highest standard. Working closely with clients, engineers, consultants, suppliers and project teams, you will guide the development of practical and efficient design solutions that align with technical requirements, budgets and delivery programs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate all phases of the design process across allocated projects
Manage design documentation programs to support quality and timely delivery
Guide and mentor Design Coordinators, fostering a collaborative and high performing team
Select, engage and coordinate subconsultants and integrate their work into the overall design
Collaborate with clients, engineers, consultants, suppliers and construction teams
Ensure designs meet technical requirements and are optimised for buildability
Manage design budgets, schedules, quality standards and project objectives
Maintain responsibility for the quality and completeness of design documentation
Drive continuous improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing across projects
About You
You are an experienced design professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and leading multidisciplinary teams. You communicate confidently, manage competing priorities effectively and understand how strong design documentation supports successful construction.
You will also bring:
More than 10 years of relevant industry experience, preferably within design or engineering
Demonstrated experience managing projects, design teams and external consultants
Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
Advanced Revit capability
A practical understanding of constructability, design coordination and project delivery
The ability to manage design programs, budgets and quality requirements
