Werner Engineering is looking for multiple experienced Boilermakers and Boilermaker Leading Hands to join our Growing team at our Paget workshop in Mackay.

These are workshop-based positions, giving you the opportunity to work on large-scale mining and heavy industrial equipment while being home every night.

We are seeking

• Qualified Boilermakers – Multiple Positions

• Boilermaker Leading Hand

You will work across a variety of heavy fabrication, repair and rebuild projects, including mining and fixed-plant equipment.

• Heavy fabrication, welding, repairs and modifications.

• Repairs and rebuilds of mining and industrial equipment.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and job specifications.

• MIG, stick welding, gouging, cutting and grinding.

• Ensure completed work meets quality and specification requirements.

• Work safely and efficiently within allocated job hours.

• Identify and communicate additional repairs or defects.

• Maintain a clean and safe work area.

In addition to trade duties, Leading Hands will

• Provide guidance and support to Boilermakers and apprentices.

• Assist with coordinating daily workshop priorities and workflow.

• Ensure employees have the correct drawings, materials and information to complete jobs.

• Monitor workmanship, productivity and quality.

• Assist with training and developing less experienced team members.

• Communicate job progress and potential delays to the Supervisor.

• Work along side boilermakers to produces High Quality Products

• Trade-qualified Boilermakers.

• Strong heavy fabrication and welding experience.

• Ability to confidently read engineering drawings.

• Experience with mining equipment is highly regarded.

• Strong commitment to safety and quality.

• Reliable, productive and able to work as part of a team.

• Previous leadership experience is preferred for Leading Hand positions.

• Be home every night – no FIFO.

• Multiple permanent positions available.

• Mackay-based workshop in Paget.
