About the role
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Passive Fire Division Manager to lead, grow and oversee the operational, technical and commercial performance of our Passive Fire division which includes fire compartmentation and fire/smoke door systems. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring all passive fire protection works are delivered safely, compliantly and efficiently across a diverse portfolio of commercial maintenance and minor work projects throughout WA.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
· Lead, mentor and develop a team of project managers, supervisors, technicians and installers.
· Build a high-performance team culture focused on safety, quality, accountability and client satisfaction.
· Workforce planning including recruitment, training, performance management and resource allocation.
Operational Delivery
· Oversee end-to-end delivery of passive fire projects including fire stopping, penetration sealing and fire/smoke doors.
· Ensure all works comply with relevant Australian Standards, NCC requirements and WA regulatory frameworks.
· Conduct site audits, risk assessments and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
· Manage subcontractor engagement, performance and compliance.
Commercial & Financial Management
· Manage division budget, P&L performance and financial forecasting.
· Review tenders, prepare cost estimates and support the bid process.
· Identify efficiencies, control costs and maximise division profitability.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, builders, contractors and suppliers.
Compliance & Quality
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NCC/BCA, AS 1530 and AS 4072.
· Drive quality assurance practices and oversee internal auditing processes.
Business Development
· Support growth of the Passive Fire division by identifying new opportunities in commercial, industrial and resources sectors.
· Provide technical expertise to clients and stakeholders.
· Champion the company’s capabilities and reputation within the WA market.
Skills & Experience Required
· Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in passive fire protection, building services, construction or similar field.
· Strong understanding of NCC, BCA, relevant Australian Standards and WA regulatory requirements.
· Proven leadership experience managing teams and coordinating multi-site operations.
· Strong commercial acumen including budgeting, estimating and contract management.
· Excellent stakeholder relationship and communication skills.
· High attention to detail and strong commitment to safety and compliance.
· Ability to work autonomously and proactively in a fast-paced environment.
· Current WA Driver’s Licence
Preferred Qualifications
· Fire Protection Accreditation Scheme (FPAS) or FPAA qualifications (advantageous).
· Previous management experience within a medium-to-large fire services organisation.
