Developer Programmer – Web eCommerce & Integrations

About the role

Kobe Creations is seeking an experienced Developer Programmer to join our Melbourne team. This is a hands-on full-stack role working across eCommerce websites, B2B portals, custom web applications, APIs and business system integrations. You will be involved across the full development lifecycle – understanding business requirements, helping shape the technical approach, developing front-end and back-end functionality, testing, deployment, troubleshooting and ongoing improvement. The role suits a developer who enjoys solving real business problems rather than simply building brochure websites.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, deploy and maintain web applications, eCommerce solutions and custom software.

• Develop and maintain both front-end and back-end application functionality.

• Write clean, maintainable and scalable code in line with technical and business requirements.

• Build reusable application components and contribute to solution design and technical architecture.

• Develop, consume and maintain RESTful APIs, webhooks and third-party integrations.

• Integrate web applications with eCommerce platforms and external business systems such as ERP, CRM, POS, inventory, warehouse, payment and freight systems.

• Work with eCommerce platforms including BigCommerce, Shopify and WordPress / WooCommerce.

• Design, manage and optimise relational database structures for performance and data integrity.

• Test, debug and troubleshoot applications, integrations and production issues.

• Support application deployment across development, staging and production environments.

About you

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Development or a related field.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in software development, web development, full-stack development or a closely related role.

• Strong commercial experience with PHP and a PHP framework such as Laravel.

• Strong HTML5, CSS3 and responsive web development skills.

• Strong JavaScript experience, including modern frameworks such as React or Vue.

• Experience with MySQL or similar relational databases.

• Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs and third-party systems.

• Experience with eCommerce or content management platforms such as BigCommerce, Shopify, WordPress / WooCommerce or similar.

• Understanding of software testing, debugging, deployment and production support processes.

• Familiarity with Git or similar version control systems.
