Compliance Manager

McCormacks Strata Management is one of NSW's leading strata management companies, specialising in the management of large residential and mixed-use schemes. We are looking for an experienced Compliance Manager to oversee our compliance function and support the ongoing delivery of exceptional service across our business.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working independently, has exceptional attention to detail, and takes pride in ensuring a business operates in accordance with legislation, company procedures and best practice.

About the Role

The Compliance Manager is responsible for monitoring compliance across the business, conducting audits, maintaining registers, reviewing documentation and identifying opportunities to improve processes and reduce risk.

Working closely with Strata Managers, Administration and Finance Team you will become the central point for compliance and operational quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular compliance audits across strata portfolios.

• Ensure legislative and regulatory obligations are met.

• Monitor insurance renewals, management agreement renewals and statutory compliance deadlines.

• Review files to ensure company procedures and quality standards are being followed.

• Maintain compliance registers and reporting.

• Identify operational risks and recommend practical improvements.

• Develop and update internal procedures, checklists and compliance documentation.

• Assist with implementing new compliance initiatives and business processes.

• Ensure documentation is complete, accurate and stored correctly.

• Assist with internal quality assurance reviews.

• Work with staff to improve compliance standards and adherence to company procedures.

• Liaise with external auditors, consultants and regulatory bodies where required.

• Assist with onboarding processes to ensure compliance requirements are met.

• Support the implementation of new technology and process improvements.

About You

You'll be someone who enjoys working with systems and processes and has a natural ability to identify inconsistencies before they become larger issues.

You'll also have:

• Previous experience in compliance, governance, quality assurance or operational compliance.

• Experience within strata management, property or a highly regulated industry is highly regarded.

• Strong understanding of the Strata Schemes Management Act and associated legislation (preferred).

• Excellent organisational and time management skills.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.

• Experience with StrataMax or similar strata software is advantageous.
