About the Role

Active Steel is looking for a reliable and motivated Machine Operator or Overhead Crane Operator to join our growing team.

Previous experience in the steel, manufacturing, or reinforcement industry is preferred, but we're willing to provide training to the right person with a positive attitude and strong work ethic

About the Role

• Operate production machinery and overhead cranes safely

• Load and unload steel products

• Prepare customer orders

• Follow production schedules

• Maintain a clean and safe work area

• Work as part of a supportive team

Candidates with experience in loading and unloading bar trucks will be highly regarded.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a motivated and safety-focused operator with the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Experience operating machinery or overhead cranes

• Experience in the steel or manufacturing industry is an advantage

• A strong commitment to safety

• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

• Capability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

• Self-motivated with a proactive, can-do attitude

• Reliable, punctual and willing to learn and develop new skills

Highly Desirable

The following are not essential but will be highly regarded:

• Overhead gantry crane experience

• Loading and unloading experience, including bar truck loading

• Forklift licence and experience

• Previous reinforcement processing or mesh/wire production experience
