About the role
Engineering Production Traineeship
If you’re someone who likes working with your hands, enjoys creating things from scratch, and wants a career with real progression, this is your chance to get started in the Engineering Industry. Australian Training Company (ATC) in partnership with Queensland’s leading Manufacturer and Supplier of Structural Steel, are looking for motivated applicants, who are reliable, curious, and ready to learn from experienced tradespeople who’ll show you how to turn raw metal into precision‑made products.
What You’ll Be Doing
Perform general manual labouring duties to support operations
Assist with production activities within the workshop and yard
Operate production machinery and equipment as trained and authorised
Assist with the operation of cropper machinery under supervision
Measure, mark and drill steel components in accordance with plans, drawings, and work instructions
Assist with cutting, preparation, and processing of steel products
Assist with operation of the paint bay and preparation of steel for coating processes
Load, unload, move and store steel products and materials safely
Assist with packing and preparation of finished products for dispatch
Use hand and power tools safely and correctly
Support fabrication and manufacturing activities as directed by supervisors and experienced team members
Maintain quality standards throughout all production processes
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, construction, or trade environment (Desirable)
Interest in engineering, fabrication, manufacturing, or steel processing
Strong commitment to workplace safety
Willingness to learn and follow instructions
Reliable and punctual
Ability to work effectively within a team environment
Physically capable of performing manual labouring duties
Basic understanding of hand and power tools
Forklift licence (desirable)
Current driver's licence (due to the location and the move to Staplyton at the end of 2026)
Willingness to undertake a Drug and Alcohol screening
