About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Sales Assistant to join our team in Melbourne VIC 3000 on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be the face of our business, providing exceptional customer service, supporting sales transactions, and maintaining a welcoming retail environment. As a Sales Assistant, you will play a vital part in driving our retail success and contributing to our reputation for outstanding customer care. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your retail expertise whilst being part of a dynamic and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, efficient and knowledgeable customer service to all shoppers, assisting them with product selection and answering queries

• Process sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems whilst maintaining a high standard of service

• Stock shelves and displays with merchandise, ensuring products are well-organised, clearly priced and visually appealing

• Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming retail environment, adhering to all health and safety standards

• Handle customer enquiries and complaints professionally and courteously, resolving issues to the customer's satisfaction where possible

• Support the retail team in achieving sales targets and promoting special offers and new products

• Receive and process deliveries, checking stock for accuracy and quality

• Assist with inventory management and stock taking activities

• Follow company policies and procedures at all times, including those related to security and cash handling

• Contribute to a positive team atmosphere through cooperation and communication with colleagues

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience working in a retail environment or customer-facing role

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for helping customers

• Strong numerical ability and accuracy when handling transactions and stock

• Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations or demanding customers

• Reliable, punctual and flexible with availability, including potential weekend and evening shifts

• Physical capability to lift, carry and stand for extended periods

• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and organised workspace

• Team player mentality with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively

• A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills

• Previous experience with point-of-sale systems is desirable but not essential
