About the Role
As the Workshop Operations Manager / Senior Tech, you will oversee the daily flow of our busy Hornsby workshop while staying hands-on with high-level repairs and diagnostic work.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and direct daily workshop operations to ensure smooth, efficient workflowDiagnose, service, and repair a wide range of marine engines and systemsPlan and schedule jobs, work orders, and maintenance programsLead, mentor, and train technicians and apprenticesLiaise directly with customers, suppliers, and internal managementAssist with spare parts management, stock control, and job costing when requiredMaintain high standards of quality control, workshop safety, and compliance
About You
Qualifications: Trade Certified Marine Mechanic or Heavy Vehicle / Automotive Mechanic with strong marine experienceExperience: 3+ years in a senior or supervisory role within a workshop environment preferredTechnical Skills: Solid knowledge of marine engine systems (outboards, inboards, electronics). Mercury experience is a huge plus!Leadership: Strong communication and team management skills with a positive, problem-solving attitudeRequirements: Current Driver's Licence (Forklift licence highly regarded)
