Enrolled Nurse - Surgical

Mater Private Hospital Townsville is seeking applications for an Enrolled Nurse to join our Surgical ward. We offer excellent flexibility, with opportunities ranging from Permanent Part-Time 0.6 FTE through to 0.8FTE. Choose the arrangement that best suits your lifestyle! To be considered for this opportunity, this role requires participation in a 24/7 rotating roster including morning, afternoon, and night shifts.

Our 38 bed Surgical Ward provides care to patients across a diverse range of specialties, including orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, gynaecology, plastics, ENT and bariatric surgery. Our team delivers high-quality, patient-centered care throughout the surgical journey, from pre-operative preparation through to post-operative recovery and discharge planning.

Salary range: $37.93 - $40.34 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

As an Enrolled Nurse you will provide patient-centred nursing care under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse on duty.

• Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care while acting as patient advocate
• Demonstrating clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients during perioperative journey
• Working collaboratively with the nursing team to provide exceptional care every time
• Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth

About you

• Have current registration with AHPRA as an Enrolled Nurse with no notations
• Demonstrated experience in a surgical setting highly regarded not essential
• Minimum of 1 year post grad working in an acute hospital setting
• Ability to work in an ever-changing and fast paced environment
• Be able to manage your time effectively to meet deadlines and recognise priority tasks
• Work within a multi-disciplinary team environment with a focus on exceptional patient-centered care and customer service
• Digital and computer proficiency
