Cleaning Supervisor

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Cleaning Supervisor to join our North West Point (Christmas Island) Immigration Detention Centre on a full-time basis.

We are looking for a proactive and reliable Cleaning Supervisor to oversee daily cleaning operations and lead our team. This is a full-time opportunity is based at our North West Point (Christmas Island) Immigration Detention Centre.

About the Role

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality cleaning services within a secure Immigration Detention Centre environment. You will lead and support a team of cleaning staff to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, safety and compliance while contributing to the wellbeing of detainees, staff and visitors.

What You'll Do

• Supervise and coordinate daily cleaning operations to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and to the required standards.
• Lead, coach, and support a team of cleaners, promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance. Implement and monitor cleaning schedules, procedures, and quality assurance programs to meet contractual and site requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of accommodation, amenities, common areas, and administrative facilities.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, security, and infection control procedures within a secure detention environment.
• Manage cleaning equipment, chemicals, and consumables, ensuring safe usage, maintenance, and inventory control.

What You'll Bring

• Demonstrated experience in commercial cleaning, with previous supervisory or team leadership experience highly regarded.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, chemicals, and safe work practices.
• Sound understanding of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), infection control, and hygiene standards.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead teams and manage competing priorities.
• Ability to successfully complete all required pre-employment checks, including a National Police Check, medical assessment, and site-specific clearance.
