As our Retirement Living division continues to grow nationally, we're looking for an experienced Estimating Manager to lead our estimating function across multiple states, building capability within the team while remaining hands-on where it matters most.

What you'll be doing 

You'll lead our national Retirement Living estimating team while partnering closely with Operations, Project Delivery and Finance to ensure every tender reflects the realities of delivery. 

You'll balance leadership with hands-on estimating, taking ownership of our largest and most complex bids while coaching your team to deliver consistently high-quality outcomes across every state. 

You'll also become one of the commercial voices of the division, using market intelligence, benchmarking and tender performance to help shape pricing strategy and improve our competitive position. 

Your focus will include: 

• Leading and developing a high-performing national estimating team 
• Reviewing and approving major tenders and complex submissions 
• Building commercially robust estimates that protect margin while remaining competitive 
• Working closely with operational leaders to ensure pricing reflects delivery realities 
• Analysing market trends, subcontractor pricing and competitor activity 
• Improving estimating systems, processes and reporting as the business continues to grow 
• Partnering with Estimating Managers across other Ascot Group divisions to ensure consistency nationally 

Who is our next hire? 

You're likely already leading an estimating team or you're a Senior Estimator ready to step into broader leadership. 

You understand construction, know how to build an accurate estimate and can confidently challenge scope, pricing and commercial assumptions. 

Just as importantly, you enjoy developing people. You know great estimating isn't just about numbers it's about creating confidence for the business, our clients and our delivery teams. 

You'll bring: 

• Extensive estimating experience within construction, fit-out, refurbishment or related sectors 
• Strong commercial acumen with a focus on sustainable margin 
• Experience leading, mentoring or developing estimators 
• The ability to balance detail with strategic thinking 
• Confidence working across multiple stakeholders and project teams 
• A continuous improvement mindset and genuine curiosity about better ways of working
