About the role
South Burnett CTC Inc (CTC) is a proactive, community-focused organisation dedicated to breaking down barriers and making a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals within our communities. Our vision encompasses the South Burnett region, where everyone has equal access to support, participation, and a sense of value in their daily lives.
We provide a range of services, including Foster Care, Residential Care, Family and Youth Services, Domestic and Family Violence Services, Housing and Homelessness support, and Disability Services. Our offices are located in Kingaroy, Wondai, Nanango, and Murgon, and our work is rooted in the values of Empathy, Integrity, and Collaboration.
The Youth Mentor plays a crucial role in delivering targeted and strengths-based interventions for young individuals at various stages of risk and system involvement. This position primarily focuses on the Staying on Track, Bail Response, and Kick Starter programs, providing both individual mentoring and structured program delivery.
As a Youth Mentor, you will engage with young people to build trust, assess their needs, and foster practical life skills that promote positive behaviour change and long-term wellbeing. You will work to enhance their connections to education, training, employment, family, culture, and community.
The ideal candidate will possess a qualification in Youth Work, Community Services, or a related field, along with relevant experience in engaging with young people. You should have demonstrated skills in managing complex issues such as homelessness and mental health, and an ability to deliver culturally appropriate support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth.
Your commitment to upholding cultural protocols and maintaining community support will be essential in this role. You will be expected to work independently while also being an effective member of our community services team.
The position offers a salary in line with the Social and Community Services Worker level 2.1 $36.22 per hour or level 3.1 $40.49 per hour under the SCHADS Award, along with salary packaging options. You will also benefit from ongoing professional development opportunities and supportive team dynamics.
If you're passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people and are ready to join a community-focused organisation, we encourage you to apply for the Youth Mentor position at South Burnett CTC Inc. Your journey to empower our youth starts here!
