About the role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Fit Out Leading Hand / Site Supervisor to join our team in Geelong, VIC. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the successful delivery of our commercial fit-out projects. As a leading hand and site supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations on site, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence and ensuring client satisfaction across all commercial projects.

What you'll be doing

• Supervising and coordinating all tradespeople and labourers on site to ensure efficient project delivery

• Managing daily site operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and material management

• Ensuring strict compliance with health and safety regulations and company safety policies at all times

• Conducting regular site inspections to verify work quality and adherence to specifications and drawings

• Communicating effectively with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to provide updates and resolve issues

• Training and mentoring site staff to ensure consistent standards and professional development

• Maintaining accurate site records, including timesheets, progress reports, and safety documentation

• Managing site logistics, including equipment, tools, and material deliveries

• Identifying and resolving on-site problems promptly to minimise delays and cost overruns

• Promoting a positive workplace culture and ensuring all team members follow company policies and procedures

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5+ years' experience as a leading hand or site supervisor within commercial construction or fit-out projects

• Demonstrated expertise in managing teams and coordinating multiple trades on active construction sites

• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, with current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans, and specifications

• Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and team members

• Solid understanding of commercial fit-out processes, including internal works, finishes, and mechanical/electrical fit-out

• Experience with construction management software and ability to prepare progress reports

• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport

• Physical fitness and ability to work on site in varying weather conditions

• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
