Principal Health, Safety, Risk and Assurance

This position will work within the Argo Complex, an integrated support function bringing together the Carborough Downs Bord and Pillar mine, Ironbark No.1 Longwall mine, Broadlea Open Cut, and a centralised CHPP. Working across these sites, you’ll play a key part in providing critical on-site support for HST activities in a dynamic environment that offers exposure to multiple facets of our operations.

ABOUT THIS NEW OPPORTUNITY
Accountable for the design, integration and execution of health and safety systems, standards, governance frameworks and assurance processes, this role drives alignment, compliance and continuous improvement across all operations.

This newly created role will work work directly with site HST Superintendents to embed consistent standards, systems and practice across Carborough Downs, Ironbark No.1, CHPP, Broadlea and Burton/BCC.
 

This is a complex-wide, non-people-management technical leadership role. It carries accountability for the design, integration and operational execution of health and safety systems, standards and platforms, and acts as the primary point of technical guidance for site teams implementing complex-level strategy.

THE IMPACT YOU'LL BRING

• Significant experience in a senior HST, risk or assurance role within the resources or mining sector.

• Have a sound working knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, standards and critical control frameworks applicable to the mining industry.

• Hold a tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Risk Management, Mining Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience).

• Be an excellent communicator and collaborator who can translate strategy into action, influence outcomes, and foster strong, trusted relationships with key stakeholders.

YOUR ROLE IN ACTION

• Own complex-wide alignment of the Safety and Health Management System (SHMS), including integration of newly onboarded or transitioning operations.

• Translate strategy into practical, consistent site-level action.

• Provide technical leadership across critical risk, assurance and investigations.

• Own key HST platforms, data integrity and system performance.

• Partner with site leaders and corporate stakeholders to drive compliance, consistency and continuous improvement.

• Support the General Manager with governance, reporting and stakeholder engagement.
