Senior Architect

Together Design Studio is looking for an experienced Senior Architect to join our Alexandria studio in a key leadership role.
We are a small architecture and interiors practice working across considered residential, hospitality and interior projects. We design places for living, working and gathering – spaces that feel grounded, generous and enduring.
Our studio is collaborative, design-led and hands-on. We care about doing good work, resolving it thoroughly and creating an environment where people can enjoy coming to work and continue developing their skills.
About the Role
This is an opportunity for an experienced architect who enjoys both leading projects and helping others deliver them well.
You will lead selected architectural and interior projects while providing senior technical and project delivery support across the studio. You will work closely with the Director and act as a key point of guidance for our Project Architects, Designers and Graduates.
The role combines project leadership, technical oversight, mentoring, client management and involvement in the day-to-day operation of the studio.
You will:
Lead selected projects through design, documentation and constructionProvide senior technical and quality assurance oversight across the studioReview documentation, specifications and technical resolution prior to issueSupport project teams with complex technical, consultant, client and construction mattersMentor and develop less experienced team membersMaintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and buildersContribute to WIP, project resourcing, programmes and commercial oversightHelp us continue improving our technical standards, systems and ways of working
The Director will continue to lead overall design direction, key client relationships, new business and practice strategy, with the Senior Architect taking increasing ownership of project delivery and technical leadership across the studio.
About You
We are looking for someone who is technically strong, calm and confident, with the judgement to make decisions independently and the generosity to help others develop.
Ideally, you will have:
Registration as an Architect in Australia and approximately 8+ years' post-graduate experienceStrong residential experience, ideally including high-end residential and interiorsExperience leading projects through design, documentation and constructionStrong technical knowledge of construction, detailing and architectural documentationExperience coordinating consultants and reviewing the work of othersConfidence working directly with clients, consultants and buildersAn interest in mentoring and developing less experienced team membersA collaborative, hands-on approach to practiceProficiency in architectural design and documentation software, with Revit experience desirable
You don't need to be equally strong in every area. We are particularly interested in architects with strong technical and project leadership skills, good design judgement and the potential to grow into broader studio leadership.
