Factory hand

About the role

We are looking for a reliable, hands-on Factory Hand to join our production team at our Thomastown facility. We make safety products include chemical cabinets and absorbents. This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys practical work, keeping a workplace organised, and helping out wherever needed. You will play an important role in keeping our factory, yard and production areas safe, clean and running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Emptying bins and maintaining waste collection points around the site

• Building and modifying custom pallets as required

• Stacking and organising pallets

• Breaking down damaged or unwanted pallets

• Managing recycling streams including steel, timber, polyethylene and PVC

• Conducting regular walk-arounds of the front, rear and sides of the facility and keeping the driveway and surrounding areas free of rubbish

• General cleaning and housekeeping of factory walkways and common areas

• Supporting production teams as an extra set of hands when required

• Assisting with other general factory and site duties as needed

• Reliable, punctual and takes pride in their work

• Comfortable performing physical and hands-on tasks

• Can work independently and identify what needs to be done

• Strong focus on safety and housekeeping

• Willing to help different production teams when required

• Enjoys keeping work areas clean, organised and efficient

• Positive, practical and team-focused attitude

• Previous factory, warehouse, maintenance, yard or manufacturing experience would be beneficial, but the right attitude and work ethic are most important
