Head Chef - Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club

Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club, part of the St Johns Park Bowling Club Group, is seeking an experienced and motivated Head Chef to lead our kitchen team.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is passionate about quality food, developing and supporting their team, and creating a positive kitchen culture. You’ll oversee the day-to-day kitchen operations, including rostering, food quality, stock and cost control, while working closely with Venue Management and HR.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support the kitchen brigade to deliver consistent, high-quality food and service across multiple departments – Bistro, Café, Functions, Offsite Catering.
• Manage kitchen rosters and staffing requirements to meet budgeted targets and operational needs
• Maintain high food quality, presentation, stock control and food cost standards.
• Complete ordering, food cost negotiations and effective management of wastage to meet budgeted targets.
• Menu planning
• Train, coach and develop a brigade of chefs, cooks and kitchenhands, with support from Management and HR.
• Encourage teamwork and continue to improve on the positive, respectful and supportive kitchen culture.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, WHS and kitchen compliance.
• Work closely with Venue Management and other departments to support the overall operation of the venue.

About You:

• Previous Head Chef, Sous Chef or senior kitchen leadership experience.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Experience with rostering, stock control and food costs.
• A passion for developing, supporting and motivating your team.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen compliance.
• A hands-on, reliable and positive approach.
• Relevant cookery qualifications.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required

• Tuncurry NSW 2428: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Experience:

• Head Chef: 2 years (Preferred)
