About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Business and Private Client Advisory (BPCA) division, which supports a range of small, medium and large private businesses and family groups, along with some not-for-profit and foreign owned businesses. We offer a wide range of services including accounting and tax compliance, business and tax advisory, structuring, superannuation, wealth management and transactional services.

You will be an integral member of our highly functioning team that specialises in Small to Medium enterprises. The Sydney BPCA division is led by 3 partners with over 20 staff within the Sydney division. Within the whole Sydney office there are approximately 90 team members. We are looking for someone that will fit into this team and contribute positively to the management of the vast range of business and private clients.

Key duties include workflow management, job delegation, and -client advisory. This role demands strong client service, and leadership skills, while ensuring productivity goals and budgets are met and escalating issues when appropriate.

Key responsibilities

Contribute to the management of a large portfolio of SW clientsAchieve productivity targets and client budgets; deliver value-added servicesSupport and lead team members for optimal performanceAllocate staff and resources to meet client and firm commitmentsIdentify and develop potential business opportunitiesActively participate in management of the business clientsAttend manager meetingsAdvise Associate Directors and Directors of any necessary mattersEnsure administrative compliancePerform other duties as required, including training and special projects

Key skills and experience

Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Business Services at a Chartered/CPA accounting firmPrior experience with small to medium business clients preferredDegree and CA/CPA qualified (or in progress)Up-to-date technical knowledge of taxation law and accounting developmentsPotential networking skills and client relationship abilitiesExcellent time management skills and ability to meet client deadlinesPotential to mentor and manage junior staffSkilled in handling sensitive client matters diplomaticallyProfessional presence with strong interpersonal and communication skillsProficient with Xero, MYOB, Reckon, and Microsoft Excel
