Rivermount College is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher Aide to join our Secondary School Inclusion Support Team in 2026. This role provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student achievement through targeted numeracy intervention and personalised learning support for students in the Secondary School.
The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and inclusion staff to support students experiencing difficulty with mathematical concepts, foundational numeracy skills and curriculum access through evidence-informed intervention strategies.
About the Role:
This term-time position involves providing targeted support to secondary-aged students individually or in small groups, including those who require personalised learning adjustments, or specialised intervention programs.
Contract: Fixed term until 30 November 2026
Hours: Monday – Friday | 8:30am – 3:30pm (Term Time Only)
Review: Term 4, 2026, with potential extension into 2027
📋Key Responsibilities
Support the delivery of classroom and intervention activities under the direction of teaching and inclusion support staff
Assist in preparing, modifying and organising learning materials
Record observations, progress notes and data to inform personalised learning plans
Provide structured and sensitive support to students with cognitive, developmental, sensory or communication needs
Assist with student supervision in classrooms, breakout spaces and playground areas
Contribute to a nurturing, inclusive and safe learning environment
✅ Selection Criteria
To be successful for this role, you will have:
A minimum Certificate III in Education Support (or equivalent)
Demonstrated experience supporting students with learning difficulties, learning adjustments, and evidence-based literacy or numeracy intervention programs
Strong understanding of inclusive education practices and child development
Experience collecting and recording student intervention data to monitor progress and inform future learning support strategies
The ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and respond flexibly to student needs
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with staff, students and families
Professionalism, confidentiality and respect when working with sensitive student information
Willingness to participate in college directed Professional Development
Competence in ICT to support learning and record-keeping
A current Working with Children Check
