Our new Senior Accountant/Supervisor will have great investigative, problem-solving, and analytical skills based on 5 or more years of professional employment in public practice roles. This will be paired with exceptional written and verbal communication skills to meet client needs in a timely and professional manner.
 
As a member of this service-driven team, you will have a thorough understanding of technical tax concepts and their implications for our clients, including, but not limited to, GST, Division 7A, and CGT. You will be proficient at preparing and reviewing tax calculations, income tax returns, and business/installment activity statements.

In this role, you will provide accounting, taxation, and advisory services to an established portfolio of clients, mentor them, and review the work of more junior accountants.

About you:

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
• A positive and adaptable attitude and the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Solid tax accounting experience, with 5 year plus years of full-time experience in a business services accounting firm.
• Currently studying or completed CA/CPA qualifications.
• Proficiency in using accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, Quickbooks and Microsoft Excel

About the role:

• Prepare complex income tax returns and financial statements for individuals, sole traders, companies, and trusts
• Reviews financial accounts, tax returns, business activity statements, installment activity statements, and other work performed by Intermediates and graduates 
• Researching and consulting on various tax issues and drafting tax advice for our managers and partners.
• Liaising with the ATO, clients, and other professionals to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
• Providing leadership and guidance/training to the team and working with the Director to manage the day-to-day operation of the team 
• Detailed knowledge of tax office correspondence and procedures (including assessment, objections, etc
