About the role
About us
Toowoomba Care Support Services provides services for people living with disability/ies in Toowoomba and surrounds. Our services are designed to cater diverse range of people living with mental health issues, various physical disabilities, and community care. We transform communities by connecting people with one another, strengthening bonds, and creating endless opportunities. We work with all individuals of all ages experiencing disabilities or challenges to their physical, psychological, or social well-being. This can include but is not limited to assistance in activities of daily living, social support, community access, and maintaining employment. Our main vision focuses on both its participants and its employees. We believe in balance throughout the workforce in order to achieve quality care being provided to its participants.
Qualifications & experience
Ability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals
Willing to work BROKEN SHIFTS is a must (broken shift penalty allowance is paid)
Reliable and availability to work between 20-30 hours/week (buildable upon commencement)
Available to work sleepover shifts is a must
Willing to travel around Toowoomba and surrounds (with paid kilometre allowance + paid travel time)
Have an Australian driver licence
Current blue and yellow card / NDIS worker screening check or willing to obtain
Right to work within Australia
Good English communication skills
Tasks & responsibilities
Personal Care (includes assistance with self-care activities like showering, hygiene cares, grooming, mobility, transfers, and hoisting)
Assisting disability participants in their Community Access and Social Community Participation (this includes attending doctor's appointments or personal errands like grocery shopping)
Assist participants with their medications
Meal preparation and meal planning
Must be able to perform domestic cleaning and household duties
Work as part of a team and be able to maintain home environment for the disability participant
