Childcare Centre Chef

We are seeking a caring, organised and creative Chef to join our childcare centre. You will prepare fresh, nutritious meals for children and help create a positive food experience that supports their health, wellbeing and development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and prepare healthy, age-appropriate meals, snacks and menus.
• Cater safely for dietary requirements, allergies, intolerances and cultural needs.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, kitchen cleanliness and record keeping.
• Manage food ordering, stock rotation and kitchen supplies.
• Work closely with the centre team and communicate clearly about children’s dietary needs.
• Bring creativity and enthusiasm to menus while promoting positive eating habits.
• Prepare and present nutritious, appealing meals and snacks that children enjoy.
• Plan menus, order supplies and manage kitchen stock within the allocated food budget, while minimising waste.

About you

• Current Working with Children Check.
• Current Food Safety Supervisor certificate.
• Strong knowledge of food allergies, anaphylaxis management and safe food handling.
• Previous experience preparing meals in childcare, education, healthcare or a similar setting is highly regarded.
• Previous experience working in a childcare or early childhood education setting is highly favourable.
• Qualifications in Early Childhood Education and Care, or a related field, will be highly regarded.
• A genuine passion for nutritious food, creativity and children’s wellbeing.
• A reliable, safety-focused approach and excellent organisational skills.

Pay: $28.81 – $35.00 per hour
