About the role
The Opportunity
Downer's Energy & Utilities we are seeking a Mechanical Site Engineer to join our Logan Water project team, supporting the delivery of a major greenfield water infrastructure project located at Logan City, QLD. This is a permanent full time opportunity working Monday to Friday.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will provide technical expertise, guidance and advice across all phases of project delivery. Working closely with Project Engineers, Supervisors and subcontractors, you will play a key role in ensuring mechanical installations are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:Supporting the delivery of mechanical construction works on a major water infrastructure projectAssisting with subcontractor onboarding, coordination and performance managementMonitoring quality, inspections and compliance with project specificationsSupporting procurement activities and subcontract administrationAssisting with cost control, forecasting and project reportingBuilding positive relationships with project stakeholders, alliance partners and suppliers
What We Are Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will bring:Engineering qualificationPrevious project engineering experience, ideally within the water, utilities, infrastructure or construction sectorsExperience managing and coordinating subcontractorsKnowledge of budgeting, cost control and project reporting processesStrong communication and stakeholder engagement skillsExcellent organisational and time management capabilitiesSound computer literacy and confidence working with project systemsYou will also demonstrate strong accountability a collaborative leadership style and a commitment to safety quality and customer outcomes.
